‘Are you camping tonight’ shoppers joke as Lidl Ireland bosses warn ‘set your alarm’ for kitchen dupe landing in hours

LIDL Ireland is releasing a huge new kitchen staple TODAY and shoppers are seriously excited.

The retailer had been building up hype for the latest release, before revealing the huge dupe a couple of weeks ago.

Lidl Ireland is set to sell The Monsieur Cuisine Smart, which is a huge dupe for a very expensive product.

It’s the first time an Irish retailer has launched its own innovative product.

Lidl’s own-brand Silvercrest Monsieur Cuisine Smart is an established household appliance across Europe, with over two million units sold.

The multi-functional kitchen product is designed to replace dozens of kitchen gadgets in one complete appliance.

It features 11 methods: weighing, mixing, steaming, stirring, kneading, chopping, cooking, searing, emulsifying, pureeing, and sous vide.

It will sell for €499.99, and comes with a three year warranty.

And the product is set to be a gamechanger.

It has the ability to do the work of 23 kitchen essentials, over 600 recipes pre-installed, video guided cooking, a shopping list feature and a weekly meal planner.

It promises to save shoppers hours in the kitchen, and comes with dishwasher safe accessories.

With a built-in kitchen scale for measuring and precision cooking, this one product can do it all.

It has an extra large 8″ colour touchscreen display to make it easy to use.

And it’s a dupe of the popular Thermomix TM6, which currently retails at €1,499, making Lidl’s version €1,000 cheaper.

Lidl Ireland’s dupe contains all the features from the original except the peeler, slicing, grating, rice cooker and boiling.

The retailer took to Facebook to share a reminder to shoppers about the big launch.

In the caption of the post, the team wrote yesterday: “Set Your Alarm! 8:00am tomorrow!

“The Monsieur Cuisine Smart lands in-store.

“Don’t miss out on this opportunity to upgrade your kitchen game!”

And shoppers were quick to react in the comments section.

Are you camping?

One person said: “I’m tempted just to go watch…. The Hype is real …. I have a vision of 5 available for 25 people…. Could be mental.”

Another tagged a friend, asking: “Are you camping tonight?”

Someone else commented: “I have no idea what this is, but I think we need it.”

THE HISTORY OF LIDL IN IRELAND

LIDL first opened in Germany in 1973.

Back then, it employed just three people, stocking 500 product lines.

The first Irish store, located just off Molesworth Street in Dublin, was opened in 1999.

This was Lidl’s first entry into the Irish grocery market.

Then, Lidl opened more stores in 2000, in Limerick, Letterkenny, Mullingar, Athlone, Cavan, Ballinasloe and Portlaoise.

Now, the retailer has over 180 stores and three distribution centres, employing over 6,000 people.

They work with a network of more than 260 Irish suppliers from the communities they operate in.
