When The Winds of Winter eventually releases, it’s going to have to address one of the biggest cliffhangers not only in A Song of Ice and Fire, but perhaps any fantasy book series: the death of Jon Snow. Killing off the person who is, arguably, the true main character of the story is a huge deal. It taking 14 years (and counting) to resolve it is something else. But with The Winds of Winter taking so long comes the benefit of George R.R. Martin ensuring he gets it right.
