One of the specialties of Eiichiro Oda is that he has written some great female characters for One Piece. These female characters have decent developments that bring out the brilliance of Oda and also make them an integral part of the One Piece narrative. However, there is one female character that is quite significant to the story but has rarely been used by the One Piece mangaka.
This female character is none other than Boa Hancock, the Pirate Empress and the Captain of the Kuja Pirates. She is also the current empress of Amazon Lily and was the only female Warlord of the Sea at the time. Her power and abilities make her one of the strongest female characters in the One Piece storyline but this aspect of her character has become a problem for her.

Considering her status in One Piece, fans have big expectations from Boa Hancock’s character, but in the past 1100+ chapters, she has had very limited screentime. Not only that, she has also not contributed much to the narrative after the time skip and thus fans are losing hope for her.
Boa Hancock is one of the leading female characters in One Piece
Contrary to popular belief, One Piece has a big array of female characters that contribute greatly to the storyline. Among them, Boa Hancock ranks second in terms of powers and abilities. Technically, Boa Hancock is just behind Big Mom because of her status as the former Emperor of the Sea, and thus, she also has a lot of significance in One Piece.
Hancock is also in love with Luffy, which automatically makes her an important figure, considering the fact that Eiichiro Oda will never focus on the love and romance element for the One Piece protagonist. There have also been speculations about Hancock being connected to Nefertari D. Lili, the mysterious ancestor of Vivi from Alabasta.
All these elements add a lot of substance to Boa Hancock’s character and make her important in more than one ways. While Nami and Nico Robin are important as a part of the One Piece protagonist’s crew, Boa Hancock explores a totally different angle which makes her a unique female character.
Eiichiro Oda needs to use Boa Hancock more frequently
Ever since her introduction in One Piece, Boa Hancock’s character has only been used three times in the story. The first was her reign as the Empress of Amazon Lily when Luffy was transported to the island by Bartholomew Kuma. After that, she helped Luffy reach Impel Down and indirectly helped him during the Marineford War.

And finally when the Warlord system was abolished, she was hunted by the Marines and by Blackbeard, but was ultimately saved by Rayleigh. While these are all decent developments, they do not justify her status as the second strongest female character and also the Pirate Empress in One Piece.
Oda has rarely used her character, considering the fact that the story has been going on for almost 30 years. Hopefully, the One Piece mangaka has planned something big for Boa Hancock and he will implement in the final war of the series, which will decide the fate of the One Piece world.
