Gabriel lasted just 16 minutes after feeling something in his hamstring[/caption]

Gabriel, who has started all but two Premier League matches this season, lasted just 16 minutes.

While Timber had to be taken off 13 minutes from time although Arteta revealed he had been struggling earlier on in the game.

The Gunners boss issued an update on the pair’s status at full-time, saying: “We don’t know how they’re going to be. We will be assessing them tomorrow.

“Gabi felt something in his hamstring. We don’t know how big that is.

“With Jurrien he was already struggling early. He couldn’t continue.”

The two defenders now face a race to be fit for the visit of Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-final next Tuesday.

The Gunners have been bolstered by the return of Bukayo Saka, who took just seven minutes to score after spending the last 101 days out injured.

The winger has been absent after undergoing hamstring surgery in December.
