Aleks Le Fixes a Major ‘Solo Leveling’ Flaw That Is Unfortunately Prominent in the Japanese Sub

The Solo Leveling anime series recently finished with the thrilling second season after the release of its last episode, and fans are already demanding the third season of the series. The success of the Solo Leveling franchise and the love it received for the second season prove that it has joined the ranks as one of the best anime series in history.

However, what’s interesting is that the demand for the next season has come primarily from the Solo Leveling English dub fans. This is a shocking revelation as in the debate between sub and dub, sub almost always wins. But in Solo Leveling’s case, fans are more connected to the dub version, and the reason behind this is Aleks Le.

Le is the English voice actor of Solo Leveling’s protagonist Sung Jinwoo, and he has been appreciated for his efforts a lot of times. But the reason Le is being credited for the success of Solo Leveling’s English dub version is that he fixed a big flaw that was a big issue for Solo Leveling fans in the sub version of the anime.

The biggest Solo Leveling flaw that hurt its fame

There is no doubt that the Solo Leveling anime has been dominating the charts for quite some time now, but there are certain aspects of the anime that have been criticized by hardcore Solo Leveling fans. The biggest among them is the absence of the comedic elements from the story in the anime that could have essentially made the series even more intriguing.

Solo Leveling is an action series mixed with themes of fantasy, drama, and adventure. However, there are some elements of humor and comedy that balance out the narrative in a big way. It was, in fact, one of the main reasons why fans had such a good connection with the franchise in general, and thus, they hoped to see the same in the anime series as well.

But A-1 Pictures had other plans in mind as they decided to modify the Solo Leveling story a little bit by trimming out some not-so-essential scenes that won’t hurt the overall narrative. Most of these scenes involved comedic interactions between characters and it eventually became the biggest flaw of the entire series and was criticized by fans.

While the above-mentioned flaw was prominent in the sub version of the Solo Leveling series, the English dub version somehow managed to avert it, and the credit for it goes to Aleks Le. Le has been quite open about his love for the Solo Leveling franchise, and he has put his heart and soul into his role as the protagonist of the series.

He wanted it to be perfect and thus made sure that the English dub version followed the story to the core. While he couldn’t add extra scenes, he still kept the humorous tone that Sung Jinwoo unintentionally carries in the original Solo Leveling storyline. It helped the dub grow in terms of popularity, and fans were able to develop a better connection with the character.

Le’s contribution is one of the most crucial elements of Solo Leveling’s English dub version, and it is only going to get bigger and better in the next season. Hopefully, the Japanese sub version will notice Le’s efforts and implement some of it in the upcoming seasons of Solo Leveling.

Solo Leveling is available to watch on Crunchyroll.
