The first season of The Boys, based on the comic series created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robinsonwas, was released in 2019. It’s a satirical black comedy, with each hero being presented to the public as a beacon of hope. Behind the scenes, however, many of them commit criminal acts, with the villainous Homelander, played by Anthony Starr, being a threat to “The Boys” throughout. The latest season continued to up the stakes, with a dramatic climax seeing Billy Butcher, the foul-mouthed anti-hero, embracing his villain arc, murdering Vice President Elect and Supe Victoria Neuman in brutal fashion. The show offers twists and turns throughout, with the final season setting the stage for the ultimate stand-off between Homelander and Butcher, each willing to go further than ever before.
