Hell’s Kitchen just got hot and heavy after the release of the latest episode of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil: Born Again. And no, we’re not talking about Matt Murdock’s devilishly good looks. Instead, the way episode 7 just flipped the script and killed yet another character, it seems like Marvel is entering the realm of intense crime thrillers.
In the latest episode, Daredevil: Born Again killed Bastian Cooper’s Muse, and it’s not even Daredevil who took him out—it was his therapist, Dr. Heather Glenn! Yeah, well, therapy took a wild turn, and now, she’s left with a heavy conscience, possibly hinting at a dark fate ahead, mirroring her outcome in the comics.

Charlie Cox’s Daredevil: Born Again spilled more blood—Episode 7 killed Muse
Okay, we’re halfway through Charlie Cox‘s Daredevil: Born Again, and Marvel has already dropped two major characters. After killing Foggy Nelson in the premiere episode, following an attack from Bullseye, episode 7 just killed off Bastian Cooper, aka Muse. Considering the rate at which the show is proceeding, we should start taking bets on who’s next.
Well, episode 7 began with Bastian Cooper’s Muse, a creepy and twisted villain who clearly had some serious issues, seeking therapy from Dr. Heather Glenn. But in an obvious plot twist, he turned his therapist into his next target, which later saw Matt Murdock suited up and coming to Heather’s rescue, and having his showdown with Muse. But shockingly, it wasn’t Daredevil who took down Muse.

Instead, Muse’s fate was sealed by his own therapist, Dr. Heather Glenn. While therapy was supposed to help people heal, the MCU just turned it into a crime scene. Therefore, although Matt showed up in his full Daredevil glory, and had an intense fight with Muse, it was eventually Heather who pulled the trigger on the villain. Well, it seems that the show has been taking characters out left and right like it’s a Marvel version of Squid Game.
Is the show setting the stage for Dr. Heather Glenn’s ultimatum from the comics?
Now, here’s the thing. Although Dr. Heather Glenn pulled the trigger, killed Muse, and saved Daredevil, she is now forced to live with the fact that she has taken someone’s life. Even though it was done in self-defense, actress Margarita Levieva broke down her major fallout with Hunter Doohan’s Muse in episode 7, during an interview with ScreenRant.

It’s extremely traumatic. It’s life-changing, I think, for someone who’s in the service of helping others to then take someone else’s life is just too much to even understand at first and the moment that she does shoot him, we talked about it a lot. Is it a conscious [decision]? Is it full-on revenge, hunger, kill?
Is it sort of like a blackout kind of kill because so much physical violence is inflicted upon her up until then… It’ll be interesting to see how people interpret it, but the effects are evident right away, even in the hospital scene, when she wakes up from the concussion and realizes what she had done.
Following Margarita Levieva’s comment on her terrifying scene from Daredevil: Born Again, the actress seems to be dropping subtle hints about her character’s comic book fate. Given how in the comic book series Daredevil #220 (via CBR), Dr. Heather Glenn had a tragic ending, as she took her own life (like her father, after suffering from alcoholism)—there seems to be a possibility of Levieva’s character witnessing a similar fate in the show.
Just like in the comics, Matt Murdock learned about Heather’s suicide from a phone call, after ending a crime occurring in the area of her house—there might be a possibility of Daredevil: Born Again incorporating this ultimatum for Heather, just with a different cause. Unlike the comics, where she took her life after suffering from alcoholism, maybe in the show she might kill herself after suffering from the heavy emotional baggage of murder.
Meanwhile, although nothing has been confirmed about Heather Glenn’s upcoming fate, it will definitely be intriguing to follow her story in the final two episodes. Although her actions with Muse will haunt Heather, all we can say is that Daredevil will now have one less threat to deal with in the rest of season 1.
Daredevil: Born Again is available on Disney.
