In the ‘80s, Marvel Comics enjoyed success on the small screen with numerous animated series and live-action shows like The Incredible Hulk. But when it came to bringing the iconic superheroes and villains to the big screen, many failed to get past the development stage, while others that did, like Howard the Duck, only did damage to the brand. While the 1989 adaptation of The Punisher falls into the category of disappointing Marvel movies, its star Dolph Lundgren provided the most accurate, unrestrained take on Frank Castle.
