When it comes to domineering and irrational female characters in Chainsaw Man, the creator, Tatsuki Fujimoto, is a total vibe. Fans are well aware of the mangaka’s weird obsession with dominating women in his dark fantasy, horror story. But do you know that this fascination might just have shaped some of the most insane characters in this modern anime?
There is no denying that Chainsaw Man has its fair share of captivating yet unhinged female characters. In this whole roster of women characters, it is the Control Devil, Makima, who stands at the peak owing to her very dominating yet gentle aura.

And Fujimoto has left no stone unturned in designing Makima’s character a perfect at her own pitch of insane genius, with a sociopathy so cold yet captivating that she’s cementing herself as the new standard for female antagonists in anime.
Chainsaw Man’s female characters are sociopathic in their own ways!
Well, Chainsaw Man certainly looks like a party of sociopathic women, and fans are just there for it. Power, the Blood Devil Fiend? Full on gremlin energy — she is raucous, hot-tempered, and will slam anything in her way to feel like she is on top, almost as if screaming I run this city!
Next up is Reze, the Bomb Devil girl, who is affable one moment and very much what her name suggests, ‘Bomb’, the next. All shy smiles until she causes havoc. And Quanxi? That girl is a fricking assassin — standing there with a crossbow in one hand, no emotions, wiping out the people like it’s no sweat!
Power is a selfish, chaotic mess, Reze is an attractive liar, and well, Quanxi? She is an ice-cold killer, and all three female characters are sociopathic in their own ways, yet these ladies are a hoot.
Not to forget, each of these female characters sprouts from obsession: the mangaka’s obsession with domineering and irrational women, whether it be through physical strength and intimidation, manipulation, or sheer talent.
What sets Makima apart from other sociopathic characters in Chainsaw Man?
Power, Reze, and Quanxi are all undeniably fun to watch, but when it comes to Makima, she is in a league of her own. Let’s not forget, she is the main antagonist in Chainsaw Man, and Tatsuki Fujimoto has made sure that she is just on another level when compared to other characters.
There is nothing loud or flashy about her sociopathy, yet Makima is still like the queen bee in a hive of sociopathic women. This antagonist doesn’t need to be loud, or clasp her hands for a punch, but she will still make everyone around her worship her.

In fact, the protagonist, Denj, was Makima’s pet for almost the entire series, and it was her art of manipulation that added another layer to her character. Even though Makima’s emotions were kinda fake, Denji totally fell for those soft whispers and gilded gaze.
Fujimoto’s other female characters might blow anyone up, but Makima? She’ll make anyone worship her with her art of manipulation.
Chainsaw Man is currently available to watch on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
