A STREAMING app with hundreds of TV channels and free movies to watch has revealed the latest phase in a big overhaul.

The app is big on Fire Sticks, smart TVs and smartphones too.

Plex is home to some big name titles with huge Hollywood stars and beyond.

On the movie front, there are familiar hits including Noah starring Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly, David Bowie’s 1986 fantasy film Labyrinth, as well as comedy’s like Austin Powers and Mr Bean.

For those who love TV, there are channels dedicated to specific classic shows.

So you can watch back-to-back episodes of Homes Under The Hammer, Escape To The Country and even Pointless.

For kids, there are channels for the Smurfs, Teletubbies and Arthur.

Plex shared plans for a massive revamp last year that has been gradually rolling out across the globe.

Now the new mobile app is ready for iPhone and Android.

The overhaul should make it easier to find the channels, shows or movies you love.

There’s a redesigned navigation with bolder artwork as well as a dedicated tab for personal media libraries.

“If you don’t see the new update available on your mobile device right now, be patient,” Plex said.

“It will be rolling out to all users over the course of the next week.”

The TV version of Plex is still undergoing work.

A preview version is already out so engineers can refine and tweak features.

Streaming bills

Brits are increasingly looking for cheaper or free (and legal) streaming options as the bigger names hike prices.

Netflix recently increased its subscription cost by up to £2.

The most expensive premium plan went up by £1 to £18.99 per month.

Users of the standard plan now have to pay £12.99 – up from £10.99 previously.

And the cheapest ad-supported tier went up £1 from £4.99 to £5.99.

FREE STREAMING APPS

There are plenty of free, legal streaming alternatives around these days.

Tubi is home to many big name Hollywood movies from recent years.

And Pluto TV has even more free channels with classic TV shows to watch, as well as films.

Both are available to watch instantly without any signing up.

And they’re supported by adverts to keep them free.
