Vince McMahon always aimed for perfection, and although many superstars try to get to his standard, some of them have disappointed him to the point where he told them to their faces about their performance.
One such matchup even involved Stone Cold Steve Austin, and it was a WrestleMania match. Despite that, it was not up to the mark for Vince McMahon. It was WrestleMania 27, and Michael Cole was up against Jerry Lawler, and it was a bit of a drag, according to Michael.

Although Stone Cold was the referee of the match, it lacked energy and was way off from WrestleMania standards. This was recently revealed by Michael Cole in a podcast with Corey Graves. He also mentioned that Vince McMahon was so furious that he termed it the worst match he ever saw in his 60 years of WWE.
Vince McMahon and the worst match of his 60 years in WWE
At WrestleMania 27, Michael Cole was set to fight Jerry Lawler with Jack Swagger by his side. From the very start, it was a dull show as Michael gave a winning speech before the match, and the fight lacked interesting moves to make the audience involved in it.
Although it was bad, as Michael terms it, Jack Swagger was stunned by Stone Cold, and though there was less energy, the audience applauded the stunner. Initially, Michael felt the match went well, but when he saw Vince backstage, different opinions were directed towards him. In a podcast with Corey Graves, Michael says,
“Man, I thought that went pretty good.’ I go to the back, and I look at Vince, and Vince looks at me, and he goes, ‘That is the worst thing I have ever witnessed in sixty years.’ So, that was my WrestleMania match, but the check clear,d and I’m still undefeated!”
The whole scenario felt so lethargic to Vince McMahon that he didn’t even care to consider Stone Cold and termed it as the worst match he ever saw. Although Vince was furious about this match, Stone Cold certainly tried to do his part to keep the audience involved in the match.

White Stone Cold was only officiating the match. Every eye was on him because of his persona and the bits that he did. His very entrance made a mark as he geared up for the ring on a fat bike.
While officiating the match, he gave a stunner to Jack Swagger that riled up the audience, and he messed with Michael Cole while he had already tapped out to Jerry Lawler. After Jerry secured victory over Michael, Booker T, sitting in the commentator section, joined in the celebration and did his signature move.
Vince McMahon was very particular about the performance and the crowd engagement, and he never refrained from telling to the superstar who messed it up. Maybe he had been a hard boss to follow, but the franchise that he built was quite insane.
