Stacey Solomon admits to ‘domestics’ with Joe Swash for new BBC reality show after forgetting their mics were still on

STACEY Solomon admitted she and husband Joe Swash would often forgot to switch off their mics when they were having “domestics” on their new BBC reality show.

The couple joined Alex Jones on The One Show on Monday to discuss their new series Stacey and Joe, which features five of the couple’s children as well as Stacey’s sister, Gemma, dogs, Peanut and Teddy.

Stacey, 35, admitted that they got so comfortable with camera crew and production being in their house, that they forgot to switch off their mics when they would bicker.

The Loose Women star said: “We’re quite a busy household, we’re seven just us and then my sister is always over, Joe’s family are always over.

“You don’t notice, to the point where we would have a bit of a domestic about something and then be like ‘they’re here… stop the mics are still on, stop’.

“We’d look at each other and be like ‘oh no, they can hear us’.”

Joe said: “We decided when we were going to do this, it would be warts and all, not just to show the glamorous side, it was going to be the ups and downs.”

Stacey added: “We made it clear there isn’t much of a glamorous side when we signed up to it. We hope you’re not expecting Kardashian style.”

During the same interview, Stacey let slip that her hit show has been renewed for a brand new series by the BBC.

The TV personality picked up a National Television Award for her role in hit series Sort Your Life Out last year and now she has been handed another series.

Speaking on tonight’s The One Show, Stacey let slip that the programme had been handed a sixth series by bosses amid its award-winning success.

As host Alex Scott probed as to whether fans could expect to see more, Stacey confirmed so before she was left panic-stricken as she debated on if she had let slip the news prematurely.

Responding to the host, Stacey said: “We are all meeting up again next month and we are going to be doing another series.”

Stacey then jolted as she placed an arm on Joe after worrying she had given the news away too soon.

She asked: “Am I allowed to say that? No one has told me I’m not allowed?”

The show’s hosts grimaced as Stacey clarified: “Yes [there is another series] if we are allowed [to say].”

Sort Your Life Out first launched in 2021 and has so far aired five successful series.

After the show landed Stacey a gong at last year’s NTAs, it has found itself nominated for yet another big award this year.

News of the show renewal comes as she and husband Joe Swash prepare to launch their very own fly-on-the-wall reality show, Stacey & Joe, on BBC One.

The programme gives a warts-and-all look at the couple’s life inside the walls of Pickle Cottage.

It is the first time the pair have allowed cameras into their family life with all the pair’s children expected to feature.
