Jon Bernthal’s Punisher is this tough guy who has no patience for corrupt cops. But oddly enough, there’s one thing Bernthal himself seems to hate even more than maybe injustice in real life, and that’s naps.
Yes, the man who plays one of the toughest, most relentless anti-heroes on screen has an unexpected grudge against the power naps. He trains like a Marine, embeds himself with real cops for roles, and commits to his characters with an almost obsessive intensity. But the idea of closing his eyes for a quick power nap? is absolutely unacceptable to him!

Jon Bernthal hates naps!
The Internet has done what it does best. In this case, it’s compiling all the footage where Jon Bernthal‘s unwavering hatred for naps is showcased. Clips from multiple interviews show him passionately railing against the idea of midday naps, or just naps in general, dismissing it as something he simply cannot respect. To him, taking a nap seems to be a sign of weakness, a mindset that has left many fans both amused and perplexed.
People can’t quite figure out why he’s so against it. Some speculate he’s overcompensating, joking that he must secretly sneak in naps and is trying to cover it up. Others believe he’s simply doubling down on his signature” tough guy persona“, leaning into the gritty, no-nonsense attitude he’s become known for.

But one theory particularly stands out, a nap must have done him dirty. Maybe he lay down for a quick one-hour recharge, only to wake up an entire day later, forgetting what day or time it was, and when he returned to his senses, he felt completely betrayed. Since then, he might have sworn off naps forever, a man with a vendetta.
While his intense commitment to his roles is well-documented, whether it’s military-level training for The Punisher or immersing himself in law enforcement for We Own This City, some argue that his anti-nap stance feels a little out of touch. As for many people, rest is a necessity, not a weakness.
Still, some fans have embraced the idea, “He’s The Punisher, he doesn’t have time for them.” Whatever it is, Bernthal’s unexpected “beef “with naps has now become more entertaining than Kendrick Lamar vs Drake!

Jon Bernthal is excited to step back into the role of The Punisher once again!
Jon Bernthal’s return as Frank Castle in Daredevil: Born Again has fans hyped, and there’s even more Punisher on the way. Thanks to a reworked version of the series by executive producer and writer Dario Scardapane, Bernthal found a fresh reason to step back into the role, especially with Marvel leaning hard into the ultra-violent side of its heroes.
Thus, Bernthal told Entertainment Weekly, it’s this grittier, more raw approach that got him excited to return to the character. He explained,
They really brought me into the conversation. We really got specific about where Frank is psychologically, where Frank’s at physically. Let’s see if there’s a real openness and a hunger to let Frank be what Frank is, which is dark enough to have the courage and the boldness to turn your back on the audience and to make it difficult, to make it enormously psychologically complex and to steer away from any cuteness or humor and to really go full bore

And truth be told, people are craving more Punisher, and Jon Bernthal is here to deliver. First up, he’s coming back for a one-off Disney+ special under the Marvel Studios Special Presentation banner. Details are still under wraps, but to be honest, it’s bound to be epic. Bernthal’s focus is squarely on making this special something fans won’t forget, and they are all here for it.
The Punisher is available to stream on Disney+
