A fire involving a 500-metre-long gas pipeline in Jalan Putra Harmoni, Putra Heights, has left 112 residents injured.
The victims were from 49 homes in Taman Harmoni and Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru.
According to Selangor Deputy Police Chief, Deputy Commissioner Mohd Zaini Abu Hassan, 49 victims were treated at a temporary medical post set up by the Health Ministry at the Sri Maha Kaliamman Temple, which is located near the site of the incident.
Another 63 victims were sent to three hospitals — Putrajaya Hospital, Cyberjaya Hospital, and Serdang Hospital.
Those with serious injuries, including burns and breathing difficulties, were transferred to Serdang Hospital for further treatment.
The fire was first detected at around 8.10am, and nearby residents began lodging reports shortly after, at about 8.20am.
Rescue teams are continuing search operations to make sure no one is left behind, especially those who may be living alone.
Two temporary evacuation centres have been opened at Nurul Iman Mosque and Putra Heights Mosque to house displaced residents while investigations and safety checks continue.
