Witness Callum McGiven, 27, revealed he had gone with Amy Rose and her boyfriend Ryan Paterson to the car park of a B&Q in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire.
The High Court in Edinburgh was told the luggage was placed in the car.
Callum told police that he was “certain” the suitcase contained narcotics. He told officers: “I could smell cannabis.”
He revealed Amy Rose drove him home to Falkirk, Stirlingshire, on the night of the drug deal in July 2023.
Callum claimed he had just been dropped off when a black Mercedes “flew into the street”.
He claimed two men who had their faces covered got out and one of them was carrying a “hammer or an adjustable spanner” before he lunged at Amy’s car.
Callum told cops: “He hit the car door with his hand and the window just exploded. It was like a backhander.”
Callum said he heard Amy’s boyfriend Ryan Paterson shouting “go, go, go” and he watched as she drove off and was pursued by the men in the other car.
He said he tried to later contact his pal Ryan by phone but couldn’t reach him.
And when he went for a walk he spotted Amy Rose’s car at a bus stop with the emergency services in attendance.
When asked what condition the vehicle was in, he said: “Destroyed.”
Arslan Sajid, 24, Andrew Gregoire, 29, and Anthony Davidson,32, are accused of murdering Amy Rose and attempting to murder her boyfriend.
Prosecutors claim they attacked the pair and brandished hammers and bladed weapons to steal cash and money from them.
It’s alleged they then chased Amy Rose’s car and smacked it to force onto the other side of the road.
The Crown claim her car was forced off the road in a fatal smash that they caused. While Mr Patson picked up severe injuries. It’s alleged the trio then tried to dodge justice along with co-accused Steven Hornsby, 55.
On the first day of the trial Mr Sajid offered to admit to driving dangerously in return for a charge being altered but this was rejected by prosecutors.
The trial, before judge Lady Drummond, continues.
