While Joshua Jackson will always be a Hollywood icon for his role as the loveable Pacey Witter on Dawson’s Creek, Jackson has a few acting idols of his own. In fact, most recently, he got to share the screen with one of his bucket list co-stars, Angela Bassett, on his new show, Doctor Odyssey.

“She’s marvelous in every way that a person and master can be marvelous,” Jackson gushed of the Black Panther star to People. “She is great, epitomized, and she is just classy and smart and funny and brassy and professional and just wonderful.”
“It is great having a presence like that on set,” he said of the Doctor Odyssey and 9-1-1 crossover episode. “It’s a ton of fun working with somebody like that. I had a lovely time. She’s just a joy to be around.”
In addition to starring on screen together as Dr. Max Bankman and Sargeant Athena Grant, the two shared a sweet moment offscreen too. “She did tell me I had beautiful blue eyes, which made me blush,” Jackson revealed. “[It] stopped me in my tracks,” he said of the comment. “I was like, ‘Okay, well, I can wrap it up now. That’s everything I needed out of this career. I’m good.’”
Together, they starred in Doctor Odyssey‘s 11th episode of season one, titled Casino Week. In it, Bassett’s Athena enrolls Max’s help to scope out her suspicions about two passengers who seem to be targeting the ship’s vault.
“We did these two big action adventure episodes [of the show] and it was nice to get back more into sort of the sparkly, fast-paced dialogue version of the Odyssey,” Jackson said of the episode. “It’s a lot of tuxedo time in this episode, but I really enjoyed getting back in and having an opportunity to bat the ball around with Angela.”
Casino Week aired earlier this month on March 21. Hopefully, fans will enjoy watching it just as much as Jackson enjoyed filming!
