PLANS for a new train station in an area of Glasgow are being discussed in a bid to solve an “awful” issue.
The proposals are part of an action plan which aims to make essential services “easily accessible” for pedestrians and cyclists.

Concerns were raised by Councillor Kieran Turner over the condition of a site behind Parkhead Forge.
At a council meeting, he said the access from Carntyne across the railway line to the shopping centre is “awful”.
An officer agreed it is “challenging”, adding: “There is a long term aspiration for a rail haul there.
“We would continue to support that but it is quite a difficult journey to get a new railway station anywhere.
“As part of the Parkhead town centre action plan we will look at how to access the town centre from all sides and that would include the north.
“It is certainly something that is front and centre of our thinking.”
A council paper says the local authority is looking to support the creation of a 20-minute neighbourhood.
It reads: “The action plan will use a placemaking approach to create a vibrant, attractive town centre that can respond to changing needs.
“It will identify a mix of short, medium, and long-term options that will help improve the quality of the centre and support the creation of a 20-minute sustainable neighbourhood.”
Elsewhere, a brand new £18million train station near Glasgow could be on track to open next summer.
Train journeys in East Renfrewshire are set to drastically improve when Balgray Station opens in Barrhead in 2026.
The new station is being built on the Neilston line, running between Glasgow and Neilston, after plans were approved in September.
