Harrison Ford is regarded among the most legendary prominent actors in Hollywood, and rightly so. He has cemented this firm reputation for himself in the entertainment industry with his beyond-outstanding acting chops and unwavering bold persona, the latter of which has even seen him breaking some rules on set at times.
Like, this one time, he was working on his 1997 action-thriller flick Air Force One with Gary Oldman, where there was a certain set of rules imposed on the actors with regard to their activities on the sets. But being the star that he is, Ford ended up breaking all the rules simultaneously—a stunt Oldman will, perhaps, never forget.

Harrison Ford’s Air Force One had some strict rules on set
Almost three decades ago, in 1997, two of the greatest and most fan-beloved stars of all time joined hands to work on Wolfgang Petersen‘s Air Force One: Gary Oldman and Harrison Ford. By then, both actors had come a long way since their breakthrough in Hollywood, though Ford was more famed, presumably because of his 1986 Oscar nod.
Nonetheless, when they got cast in the said political action thriller flick, there were certain set of rules laid down for everyone to follow, since they were working on some really expensive set pieces. As the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban star shared, their set was the aircraft Air Force One, and thus, everyone was expected to follow the rules.

Outstanding Screenplays shared Oldman getting candid about the same as he opened up about the set of rules they were given to strictly adhere to. He said,
I did Air Force One with Harrison Ford. And we were on a set which was obviously the aircraft Air Force One. There were signs everywhere. There was no drinking, no smoking, no eating on the set.
Thus, being the great actor that he is, The Dark Knight Rises star inevitably expected everyone present on the sets of the film to be disciplined enough to stick to those very specific rules depicted by the signs to the tee. But little did he know that the one to break them all at the same time was none other than his own co-star, who was cast in the heroic role in the movie!
Gary Oldman witnessed Harrison Ford breaking all rules on Air Force One

Notably enough, when he got cast as the targeted President James Marshall alongside Oldman’s villainous terrorist who hijacked the titular plane, that was the time by which Harrison Ford had already established himself as one of the most prolific actors of all time. This was because, by then, he had been a part of big franchises like Star Wars and Indiana Jones.
That being said, following rules was ostensibly not the norm for the Han Solo portrayer. Thus, it was only inevitable that he ended up breaking all three rules without much hesitation, and the one to witness the same was Gary Oldman himself. As he continued to share, chuckling:
And there was one day when I looked around and Harrison was standing in the doorway beneath the sign that said ‘no smoking, no drinking no eating’ and he was drinking a coffee, eating a burrito, while smoking a cigar, and he was doing all three.
Well, as funny as that is, it is also rather believable for Ford to have pulled off something like that, for there are certain perks that come with being the first name on the call sheet, and Ford, for one, must have been used to that by then.
Air Force One can currently be watched on Prime Video.
