Woman, 30s, rushed to hospital after being stabbed in back & leg in early-hours assault at Dublin home as probe launched

A WOMAN is recovering in hospital after she was stabbed in the back and leg in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Gardai at Cabinteely, south Dublin are investigating the serious assault, which happened at a residence in Ballyogan, Dublin 18 early this morning.

A woman, in her 30s, was rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.

It is understood she was hit in the back and in one of her legs.

Nobody has yet been arrested in connection with the incident.

Gardai added in a statement: “Investigations ongoing.”

Separately, a woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a car on Friday night.

The collision happened on the N76 at Westcourt Demesne, Callan in Co Kilkenny.

Gardai and emergency services were called to the scene.

The pedestrian, aged in her 30s, was taken to St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny for treatment.

A garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision which occurred on the N76 at Westcourt Demesne, Callan, Co Kilkenny yesterday, Friday 28 March 2025.

“Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the collision, involving a car and a pedestrian, which occurred shortly before 9pm.


“The female pedestrian, aged in her 30s, was brought to St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, to be treated for serious injuries.

“There were no other injuries reported.

“The road is currently closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators with local diversions in place.”

APPEAL

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

They added: “Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 8.45pm and 9.15pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on (056) 7775000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
