Assassin’s Creed Shadows Is Further Proof That Desmond’s Ending Was The Franchise’s Biggest Mistake

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the latest and greatest entry in the franchise, but there is one missing aspect I can’t help but take note of. Offering an entirely new setting to the franchise with the same unique approach to fictionalized history and greatly expanding on the dual protagonist concept of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Shadows already had a great head start when it came to offering a fresh experience. Despite offering some of the best gameplay the franchise has seen in years, the latest entry completely abandoned what was originally the driving force of the series.
