Taking to social media, the airport bosses said: “Here’s a closer look at the brand new Arrivals Hall at Kerry Airport.

We’ve some more to do but the overall transformation is nearing completion. Welcome to Wild Atlantic Kerry.”

The post shared images of the new arrivals hall, revealing a sleek and modern look — almost similar to Dublin Airport’s Terminal 2 arrivals hall.

The passport control received a significant overhaul, featuring a new queuing system and a new passport control counter, with new technologies equipped to improve the speed of passport clearance.

And there’s a new baggage claim, providing extra spaces and benches for people to wait for their baggage to come through the deboarding process.

Many luggage trolleys are also positioned beside the baggage carousel to ease passengers’ stress by managing their belongings in one place while going through the airport.

New bathroom facilities are also available for passengers while they wait for their baggage or before leaving the airport.

Kerry Airport has also revamped the arrivals waiting area, providing new benches and space for people to welcome their loved ones home after their long journey.

Regular passengers of Kerry Airport were shocked and amazed by the new arrivals revamp as they rushed to the comment section to share their opinions.

A passenger wrote: “Looks great. Congrats to all involved in expanding the facilities of this great airport.”

Another person added: “Looking amazing, the best airport in the world by a country mile. The staff are lovely, helpful and so friendly.”

The third person shared their experience of going through the new arrivals hall.

She said: “Was just there yesterday and it is so nice and updated!

“I was only in the waiting area outside as I was collecting someone, so seeing this makes it all the better!”

Another person said: “Our little Kerry Airport is growing up! So good to see this.”

DUBLIN AIRPORT’S SPOT CLOSURE

Meanwhile, Dublin Airport has announced that a popular spot loved by thousands is set to close in a few days.

“The Mound” viewing area on Old Airport Road will be shut for examination next week.

But fear not, it will be closed for only a couple of hours on Wednesday, 2 April, and will reopen the following day.

The closure will allow the staff of Dublin Airport to examine the area, which will improve the viewing facilities for the public, such as making it more accessible and comfortable for the community.

This comes from Dublin Airport’s planning application to create a new dedicated viewing area for the public to watch planes take off and land on the runway.

The proposed Aircraft Observation Facility will provide a comfortable and safe space for the community to view aircraft movements, with a clear view of the south runway and the cross-wind runway at the airport.

It will also include a car park with 22 parking spaces, including four spaces dedicated to people with reduced mobility and family spaces, bike parking and an elevated covered platform with seating.

The viewing point will also be fully lit, with solar panels on the site providing power.

However, aviation spotters will not see any improvements made in the coming days as it will take time and “subject to planning approval”, meaning it may not change until next year or so.
