In an interview with WSJ Magazine, Dwayne Johnson opened up about his difficult situation after his divorce from Dany Garcia and why he was initially hesitant to marry his current wife, Lauren Hashian.

Why was Dwayne Johnson hesitant to commit to his 2nd wife?

The Rock revealed that his divorce from his ex-wife and business partner left a lasting impact on Dwayne Johnson, which made him hesitant before committing again.

“My divorce did a number on me. I wasn’t fearful of getting married again, there was just some hesitancy. But Lauren was incredibly patient: ‘I love you, you love me, we have this amazing life together — no presh.’ ” The Rock told WSJ magazine.

Lauren Hashian has been a creative synch coordinator at Warner Music Group and later worked for the music department at Paramount Pictures. Johnson first met her in 2006 on the sets of The Game Plan. Like The Rock, Hashian too, was trying to come out of a serious relationship during that time.

“At the time, I was going through my breakup with Dany and [Hashian] was just coming off a big breakup, too. Ironically, when you’re not looking for something, the power of the universe kind of takes over.”

They started dating in 2007, and after staying together for a decade, they finally decided to tie the knot in 2019.

The Rock and Hashian have two daughters together; the older sibling, Jasmine, is 9 years old and was born on December 16, 2015. Tiana was born 3 years later on April 17, 2018.

Though The Rock went through severe emotional turmoil after his first relationship ended, he went on to find the perfect partner for him. Despite things not working out with his first wife, Dany Garcia and The Rock remained on good terms and continued to be business partners.

Garcia remained Johnson’s manager even after their divorce. They even established a Hollywood production house called Seven Bucks Production together.
