WE all know the sinking feeling of a bad picture of us being uploaded to social media.
But your mate uploading a mug shot to their small Instagram following is different from celebrities facing thousands of critical comments when a dodgy snap of them goes viral.

Beyoncé’s publicists were reportedly unhappy when pictures from her 2013 Super Bowl half time show started circulating[/caption]
Sisters Khloe Kardashian and Kim Kardashian have also fallen victim to unflattering images of them going viral[/caption]
It’s a challenge the likes of Beyoncé and the Kardashian-Jenner clan know all too well.
Celebrities spend years – sometimes even decades – building up squeaky clean reputations in the public eye.
And for a lot of A Listers, much of their brand is built on their appearance.
That means one imperfect picture risks the collapse of an entire campaign and leaves them open to immense scrutiny.
Beyond that, it’s simply embarrassing to have a picture of you with one eye closed or your double chin on full display doing the rounds.
From that infamous picture of Kim Kardashian’s behind to the smoky snap of wellness guru Jennifer Aniston, Fabulous takes a look at the pictures stars didn’t want you to see.
Jennifer Aniston’s Smokey Snap

Health nut Jennifer Aniston told the public she’d quit smoking[/caption]
But then her ex-husband Justin Theroux uploaded a video of her lighting a cigarette on Instagram[/caption]
Jennifer Aniston is primarily famous for her acting, and secondarily famous for her fascinating health regimes.
The 56-year-old practices yoga and karate, skips breakfast and, when she does eat, ensures there’s a focus on protein and vegetables.
Despite this health nut persona, the LA-based actress has a long history of smoking, and used to smoke a packet of cigarettes a day at the start of her career.
In 2022, she was pictured lighting up a cheeky cigarette amid her birthday celebrations with ex-husband, Justin Theroux.
The actor posted a slow-motion video of Jen lighting a cigarette and shaking her head in a dancing manner. However, it was quickly deleted from his Instagram story.
The Friends actress was said to have ditched the smokey habit three years after finishing the hit sitcom in 2007 as it was affecting her health, energy and even friendships.
An Unlikely Jenner x Ramsay Collaboration

Kris Jenner uploaded this wholesome picture with Gordon Ramsay to her Instagram profile[/caption]
But the F-word chef had uploaded another picture taken at the same time… and it looked totally different[/caption]
As the matriarch of the Kardashian family, Kris Jenner knows a thing or two about the importance of looking perfect at all times.
However, the 69-year-old was embroiled in a photo scandal back in 2014 after she posed up with Gordon Ramsay.
Mum-of-six Kris shared a picture with the potty-mouthed chef on her Instagram profile, and both parties seemed to have flawlessly smooth skin.
Unfortunately, Gordon didn’t get the memo and shared a considerably less airbrushed picture of the pair taken at the same time.
Both versions of the picture are still on the celebrities’ respective Instagram profiles.
Momager Kris has 33 million more followers than Gordon, so she’s likely comfortable in the assumption that her version has received more views.
Beyoncé’s Super Bowl Scramble

Beyoncé made headlines after her showstopping performance at the Super Bowl half time show in 2013[/caption]
But her publicists are said to have been less than pleased when unflattering pictures from the night started circulating online[/caption]
Pop sensation Beyoncé made headlines after her showstopping performance at the Super Bowl half time show in 2013.
The 43-year-old gave it her all… and professional pics from the night were so animated that it reportedly left her PR team scrambling to have them scrubbed from the internet.
The shapes she cut resulted in a number of unflattering poses, and it’s said that her team were less than pleased with the captured results.
Journalists at Buzzfeed are said to have received an e-mail from Queen Bey’s publicist regarding the circulation of the pictures.
It reportedly said: “There are some unflattering photos on your current feed that we are respectfully asking you to change.”
The news outlet reacted by writing a reactionary article titled: “The ‘Unflattering’ Photos Beyoncé’s Publicist Doesn’t Want You To See.”
Kim Kardashian’s Bummer Snap

Kim Kardashian is famed for her larger-than-life behind[/caption]
Before she was a billionaire business mogul, 44-year-old Kim Kardashian was a young woman with a big bum and a dream.
Her larger-than-life behind is arguably one of the key things to put her on the map.
But it came back to bite her on the bum (pardon the pun) in 2017 when a sneaky paparazzi shot of her in Mexico started doing the rounds.
It showed her in a thong bikini and crop top, with her round behind on full display.
The reality star admitted she wasn’t in her “best shape” for that holiday and hadn’t worked out for 12 weeks.
Despite this, she was reportedly convinced the candid images were “sharpened” to make her look “way worse” than she did in real life.
Axl Rose Takes On Google

Axl Rose tried to have an image of him scrubbed from the internet in 2016[/caption]
The rocker’s appearance was mocked in a series of memes[/caption]
Guns N’ Roses front man Axl Rose called on tech giant Google to delete an image that he claimed was released without his consent or approval in 2016.
The image, from a 2010 concert in Canada, saw the rocker mocked on social media for his weight.
It was taken by photographer Boris Minkevich and published in the Winnipeg Free Press, but quickly stolen by online trolls to make memes mocking Rose’s appearance.
The 63-year-old then hired anti-piracy company Web Sheriff to get the photo taken offline.
The organisation claimed that Minkevich never had any right to publish or post his photograph since he signed a waiver before the concert.
As the controversy didn’t erupt until six years later, the photographer couldn’t remember if he had signed a waiver and was completely unaware that the rock star was trying to have the picture scrubbed from the internet.
