Verdansk has been a fan-favourite map since it was first released back in 2021, and it was removed afterward because of a new battle arena called Caldera.

Caldera has been a huge failure for Call of Duty players since it was released, and after the majority of the fan base requested Verdansk, Activision finally listened. In August 2024, they confirmed that Verdansk will officially return to CoD in 2025 with some pretty major changes, and fans couldn’t have been more ecstatic.
With Activision losing players each day, this inclusion of the old map puts a huge amount of pressure on Activision, hence the rumor of Warzone 3 being canceled.
