Andy Cohen’s Daughter Lucy Has Had Beef With a Disney Character — But Her Opinion May Have Turned a Corner

If you’ve been following along, you know that Andy Cohen’s daughter Lucy has had a rocky relationship with one of her stuffies. And if you haven’t, let us get you up to speed:

In January, the 2-year-old kept telling her dad that Daisy Duck is “mean.”

“No, she’s not mean!” Cohen said in a selfie video. “She’s nice! … Why do you think she’s mean?”

“Because the road is taken,” she said. And if you’re thinking, “Umm … what?!” You’re not alone. Cohen was clearly confused too, but tried to enforce that Daisy Duck is nice. Fast forward to a few days later when Cohen was discussing Daisy again, having learned that Lucy must have seen an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse that involves a road and a “bossy” Daisy Duck.

In this follow-up video, Lucy reiterated that Daisy is mean, and Cohen — who is also dad to 6-year-old Ben — was not having it.

“No, she’s not mean, OK?” Cohen said. “Daisy’s nice. Daisy knows what she wants, OK? Just because Daisy knows what she wants doesn’t mean that she’s mean.”

“I just want to teach you that just because you know what you want, doesn’t mean you’re mean, OK?” he continued. And yes, he did get a major round of applause from the internet for making a point to teach Lucy that invaluable lesson.

Amidst the Daisy drama, Lucy and Cohen also had the most precious conversation about another Disney character. The toddler told her dad she is “scared” of Mickey Mouse’s friend Pete because “he said, ‘Ahh!’” When Cohen asked what he could do to help, Lucy gave a heart-melting response: “To protect me from Pete,” she said, later adding that she was scared of Goofy too.

“I will always protect you from Pete and from everybody else,” the TV personality said.

Now, things seem to have turned a corner with Lucy and Daisy’s relationship. During a meal together, Lucy told her dad, “Daisy took a deep breath.”

“And then was everything OK?” he asked, sounding astonished.

“Yes,” the little girl said.

“See! If you ever feel a little upset, all you have to do is what?” Cohen prompted.

“Take a deep breath,” she answered.

“Yes! That’s what Daisy Duck did and it can work for you too,” the dad of two said. “This is great news, Lucy. I’m so happy.”

It was the sweetest little interaction, and we love to hear Lucy saying something positive about Daisy Duck and even bonding with her over how to calm down!

“We had a breakthrough in conflict resolution last night!” Cohen wrote on Instagram.

The internet once again fawned over this adorable clip, and we are happily jumping on that bandwagon because not only is Cohen’s parenting so admirable, but because we are so happy to know that Lucy and Daisy have found this common ground. Is that a friendship we see on the horizon? We sure hope so!
