“Twilight, that’s bullsh*t”: Joe Rogan Betrays Wesley Snipes’ Blade Movie to Crown a 2024 Movie “The Best Vampire Movie Ever”

Known for his candid opinions, Joe Rogan appeared to have turned his back on Wesley Snipes’ Blade as he declared the 2024 gothic horror film Nosferatu the best vampire movie. Snipes and Rogan are known to share a long history, especially regarding a fight that never happened.

Though Rogan expressed disappointment about their fight, he still praised Snipes’ work, particularly in the Blade film series. However, in a recent discussion, he hailed Robert Eggers’ Oscar-nominated Nosferatu as the best vampire movie ever, praising its cast, story, and overall execution.

In a recent conversation with stand-up comic Brian Simpson, Joe Rogan sang endless praise for the 2024 gothic horror film Nosferatu, which went unnoticed at the 97th Oscars ceremony, despite earning four nominations.

Directed by Robert Eggers, the film follows a young woman being stalked by the terrifying vampire Count Orlok. “I’m saying right now that it’s the best vampire movie ever,” Rogan said on The Joe Rogan Experience.

Describing the film as “a good old-fashioned horror vampire movie,” Rogan also praised Bill Skarsgård, who played the vampire Count Orlok in the movie, noting that the character was based on “the original Legend of Dracula.”

The dude who plays Count Orlock is the dude who played Pennywise, and it’s the best vampire ever — It’s based on the image; the way he looks is based on the original Legend of Dracula.

Rogan also praised the film’s eerie, beautifully shot cinematography and the way it masterfully builds suspense, delaying the vampire’s full reveal for much of the movie. “It’s a big reveal in the movie,” he added.

While he expressed deep admiration for Nosferatu’s chilling atmosphere, he had a different take on other vampire-based films, including Wesley SnipesBlade, categorizing it as more of a “fun superhero movie” than a true vampire film.

Amid his discussion about vampire movies, Joe Rogan also touched on the Wesley Snipes’ Blade film series. Starring Snipes, whom Rogan was once determined to strangle, the film follows a Daywalker who dedicates his life to hunting and killing vampires in revenge for his mother.

While the film has been a fan favorite and Rogan had also previously shared his admiration for the movie, he recently dismissed its status as a true vampire movie, rather calling it a “fun superhero movie.”

“I’ve known Blade since I was a teenager. I was into Marvel Comics,” he said before noting that the film was more of a superhero action flick rather than a story centered on vampires.

Rogan explained,

Blade was a badass martial artist who was half vampire, who is f**king up vampires. He was the Daywalker — It was like they were the enemy, and he was the good guy. That was the movie.

Rogan also shared his thoughts about the romantic fantasy film series The Twilight Saga. “Twilight, that’s bullsh*t,” he said, suggesting that though the films were commercially successful and fun for “girls,” they didn’t appeal to him.

Nosferatu and Blade are available to watch on Peacock.
