Former Little Mix member Jesy Nelson has provided an update on her pregnancy with twins.
“I’ve been feeling a bit poorly the last few days,” Nelson, 33, shared in a video posted via Instagram on Saturday, March 8, captioned “TTTS Update.”
“[I’ve] been having a few of the symptoms that I need to watch out for, which is my belly tightening, struggle breathing,” Nelson said. “So today we came into the hospital to just have a check up, basically just in case.”
However, Nelson shared that “unfortunately the symptoms have got worse.” Nelson was joined in the video by her boyfriend of three years, Zion Foster, with whom she shares the babies.

“We now have to have the — they have to perform the procedure, which is obviously not what we wanted to have happen,” the singer explained. “But it’s necessary because it’s gonna give our babies the best chance of surviving. So, yeah, we’re just waiting to go in. I’m just hoping and praying for the best, really.”

Foster, 26, in response to the unwanted news, gently assured Nelson, “It’s all gonna go well.” A tearful Nelson added, “I feel gutted. I feel absolutely gutted. I really was hoping that we wouldn’t even be in this position.”
While Foster further noted, “We’re doing it together and it’s the best chance,” Jesy responded, “Yeah, exactly. That’s why they do this procedure so that it literally gives you the best chance of both of your babies surviving.”
She continued, “Obviously it’s just really scary because there’s so many things that could happen. But, we just wanted to update you guys.” Nelson concluded, “Just pray for us please.”
Little Mix Alum Jesy Nelson Is Pregnant, Expecting Twins With Zion Foster
Nelson had opened up about experiencing pregnancy complications with her twins earlier this week. In a video shared via Instagram on Wednesday, March 5, she shared that they’d be having “identical twins, which is so exciting.”
“Unfortunately, there are complications that come with having identical twins,” Nelson said. “The types of twins we’re having are monochorionic diamniotic [MCDA] twins and with that, normally, most twins will have two placentas that they feed off of. When you have monochorionic diamniotic twins, they can lead to lots of different complications.”
According to Nelson, MCDA babies are often at risk of one “taking all the nutrients” from the other, or both dying in utero. She added at the time that she was “currently pre-stage TTTS, which is twin-to-twin transfusion.”
Nelson said that she was “being monitored very closely,” and has “to go be scanned twice a week.” She added, “The current situation that we’re in at the moment is that every time I’ve gone it gets a little bit worse.”
“We are just hoping and praying for the best,” Nelson continued. “We feel so blessed that we’ve been given twins. It’s just really sad, unfortunately, it does come with these complications we had no idea about.”
