Anna Kendrick is in her dark fashion era amid all the drama, showing she’s in her fierce, daring era! Not only did she rock that plunging little red dress at a BAFTA party earlier this year, but she donned a sparkling LBD at he 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party. And now, for the SXSW, she rocked a daring, plunging pantsuit that turned heads.
On March 7, the Alice, Darling star arrived in style at the world premiere of Another Simple Favor during the 2025 SXSW Conference and Festival. You can see the photos below:
In the photos, we see Kendrick embracing her dark side in this pantsuit from LaQuan Smith, which she paired with Dolce & Gabbana heels and BVLGARI jewelry, all of which was styled by Jordan Johnson Chung. Along with that, she rocked loose waves from hairstylist Craig Gangi and a cool-toned smokey eye makeup look by Rachel Pagan.
Not only does this look nail her new era, but it’s just so damn chic! While Kendrick has always rocked colorful, bold looks, she’s clearly in her daring era. (In fact, back in 2015, Kendrick talked to Marie Claire about her fashion sense, saying, “I feel like I exist in the polar extremes of fashion. When I’m on my own, I love a pair of jeans or sweats. But when I want to get dressed up, I kind of want to go all out!”)
Okay, if you need a recap: ever since the first A Simple Favor came out in 2018, there have been rumors of a rift between Kendrick and Blake Lively. However, recently, a source revealed to People that there “really is no drama or rift” between the two, especially now that the sequel, Another Simple Favor is coming out.
However, the drama surrounding this, plus Lively’s legal drama with It Ends With Us, have allegedly upset Kendrick in another way. Apparently, Kendrick isn’t too happy about the legal drama potentially overshadowing the long-awaited sequel, with sources saying she’s “not used to being caught up in any drama.” They added, “The comments on Instagram have upset her, especially the ones saying fans are now refusing to watch the movie because they don’t want to support Blake.”
Along with that, Kendrick made headlines for her chilly responses when asked about working with Lively again.
