They promised Daredevil: Born Again wouldn’t be like Netflix’s Daredevil, turns out, they really meant it. Disney gave the long-awaited (seven years to be precise) show the usual treatment, many fans are pointing out that it is slick, flashy, and just brainless enough to fit right in with the rest of their lineup, and looks and feels like just another Disney+ show.

Many are also disappointed with the opening fight, stating it was all flashy CGI and over-the-top chaos, more Avengery than Daredevil. Where’s the grit? What changed? Let’s discuss!
Daredevil indeed is Born Again, but something is off!
After years of waiting, Daredevil: Born Again is finally here, bringing back Charlie Cox, Wilson Bethel, and other familiar faces. But while the cast returns, something crucial didn’t survive the jump to Disney+, the raw, intense fight choreography that made Daredevil a legend. Instead, Born Again leans heavily on CGI, and not in a good way.
The first big fight, Daredevil vs. Bullseye, should’ve been a showstopper. They brawl through a bar, down a hallway, up some stairs, and onto a rooftop. On paper, it may have sounded good, but the execution, to be honest, did not do a good job of bringing the heat into life.

Matt Murdock swings around like Spider-Man, leaps higher than he ever should, and looks more like a CGI cutscene than a flesh-and-blood fighter whenever the camera zooms out.
Bullseye isn’t spared as well, he gets buried under layers of digital effects too. Knives don’t land convincingly, injuries spray fake-looking CGI blood, and everything just feels odd.
Although the trailer did warn people, fans were too optimistic to notice anything. Turns out, things were not overpolished for the trailer, as fans hope for, but these moments actually exist in the show, and they look just as clunky.
Fans miss the old Daredevil, the Netflix dark and bold Daredevil!
While some fans are just happy to see Daredevil back in action and are willing to overlook the flaws, most aren’t so forgiving. Reddit discussions are overflowing with debates, and many are voicing their concerns.
Right now, the only hope is that things get better. Born Again went through a creative overhaul mid-production, so maybe the later episodes will course-correct.

Here is what the fans have to say
Fans have plenty to say, and for good reason. Born Again feels rushed yet sluggish, cramming too much into two episodes while failing to build tension. The writing lacks the finesse of the original, with stale character moments and recycled storylines, Matt quitting again, Kingpin mysteriously back in control.
And Bullseye, how is he suddenly fine? The show doesn’t bother explaining. Sloppy pacing, unanswered questions, and obviously the weird editing and CGI make it evident that the issues during the production were truly real. At this point, fans can only hope it gets better.
First two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again are streaming on Disney+, new episodes every Tuesday.
