Becoming a killer

Graham began an affair with born again christian Lesly Ann Gault while living in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.

She was married to Paul Gault at the time.

However, Graham shocked Northern Ireland when he bludgeoned Paul to death at the couple’s home on May 19th 2002.

Despite initially getting away with his crime, Graham was caught by DNA evidence.

Three gruelling trials

Graham was jailed for life for his crime.

However, Lesly was put in the firing line as prosecutors tried to connect her with the case.

She was handed a life sentence for murder, but eventually had her conviction overturned by the Court of Appeal after facing three juries.

Since winning her freedom, Lesly has remarried.

The couple met years after Lesly was cleared and after she ended a relationship with a prison guard whom she met while behind bars.

Lesly shared that she was planning to open a new church with her husband Jeremy to “grow God’s kingdom”.

Opening up about her mission, Lesly said: “We’re working our way through a long list of preparations, planning and organising for our move to Carrick-on-Shannon.”

The Crime I Can’t Forget

Graham’s horrifying crime will be explored in the BBC series The Crime I Can’t Forget.

The episode follows Detective Inspector Roy McComb as he works to uncover the truth.

It also features an interview with Paul’s son Jonathan.

Viewers can watch the episode when it airs on March 4, 2025, at 10:45pm.
