The egg chair remains as popular as it was last year – this one is from Dunelm[/caption]

However, if you’re looking for a cut-price version, there’s a new one out – and it’s NOT from Aldi’s middle aisle.

It’s actually from the Online Home Shop, costs just £105 – £45 cheaper than Aldi’s 2024 version.

It comes in three colours – grey and natural, which were both popular last year, and a new cream option for 2025.

And another benefit of the chair is that it’s foldable – meaning it’s easy to pop away in the shed when the heavens open… sure to be a given for the UK at points over the summer.

“A MUST HAVE for your garden, a no brainer… BUY !!!” one shopper gushed about the OHS budget alternative.

While another insisted the chair is “excellent quality, easy to assemble, and brilliant value for money”.

“Just buy this egg chair – absolute bargain, I love it!” a third raved.

“Very easy to build and fast delivery time too, what’s not to love?

“The chair part of swing fold for easy storage too.”

“So easy to put together,” someone else said.

“Great quality for the price and super comfy, I dozed off in minutes!

“It’s great that the chair is foldable for winter storage.”

“Absolutely love it, really comfortable,” another agreed.

The egg chair has returned to the OHS site after selling out three times last year.

“We offer our customers high-quality home goods and furniture at affordable prices,” Ashley Furness, Trend Expert at OHS, said.

“Our new garden furniture range combines style and durability, offering everything from modern designs to timeless classics that will elevate any outdoor space.”

It’s also perfect for people of any age and size.

How to upcycle garden furniture in 3 steps

There’s really no need to spend a fortune on new garden furniture.

Rebecca Miller, Fabulous’ Associate Editor and gardening enthusiast has shared her tips to transforming grotty second-hand furniture into pieces that look brand new.

“Recycling centres, dump shops, charity shops and Facebook Marketplace are brilliant places to pick up second hand items for cheap.

And all you need to do is have a spare afternoon to spruce them up – and it’s something you can get your kids involved in!

Clean

Everything looks better after a good scrub.

If in doubt, opt for a simple washing-up liquid and warm water solution, and get to work removing all the grime and dirt.

If the piece of furniture can withstand some pressure, why not pressure wash it?

Leave it to dry, then you can see what you’re dealing with.

Fix-up

If the item of furniture is a little wonky, or you’re unsure how sturdy it is, take a moment to check all the fixtures and either replace them or tighten them up.

Colour

The quickest way to transform a piece of furniture is with a lick of paint.

When choosing a new colour, base it on shades that will fit with your existing garden design and plants – but most importantly, pick a colour that will bring a smile to your face.”

“Easy to put together and very comfy to sit on,” one person wrote in their review of the chair.

“It’s taking my weight and I’m over 15 stone.

“The kids love it too!”

The official maximum weight for the egg chair is 100kg.
