MARRIED At First Sight Australia has become embroiled in a new ‘fakery’ row – with multiple brides and grooms from this year’s series having a reality past.
The beloved reality series is back for what is promised to be one of the wildest seasons of the franchise yet, with a new set of newlyweds tying the knot after meeting at the altar.

But for some, the faces of the new show have proven to be a bit of a shock, seeing as they’ve tried their luck on previous romantically-led reality shows, or even had acting stints before now.
Paul Antoine, who has already caused controversy after punching a wall during an intense scene on the series, previously appeared on Australian show, The Real Love Boat.
Joining The Real Love Boat in 2022, Paul – who is originally from Nice but now lives in Perth – hopped aboard the Regal Princess cruise ship in a bid to find romance.
He seemed to form a connection with fellow passenger Courtney Justin, but they split before the show even made it to air.
When he arrived at the church on MAFS 2025, it was revealed he had previously dated – then ghosted – his new bride Carina Mirabile.
Sierah Swepstone, who was seen tying the knot with Billy Belcher in the latest MAFS, has also had a brush with TV stardom before.
Appearing on the Australian version of The Bachelor in 2021, the financial associate advisor, Sierah tried to win the heart of Jimmy Nicholson.
Unfortunately she was eliminated, at which point she dismissed him for “not being into tall, horny bogans” before leaving.
Jeff Gobbels, who had also previously dated now-bride Rhi before their romance ‘fizzled out’, is an actor.
While his credits are sparse, he has had a brief but recurring role on Aussie soap Neighbours, and starred in TV mini-series The Warriors.
Finally, while he has not appeared on screens yet, Teejay Halkias – who is due to enter the show as a disruptive ‘intruder’ on MAFS, has previously appeared on Big Brother Australia.
He lasted two weeks before being evicted.
Teejay is being brought onto the show after six contestants quit in dramatic scenes in the upcoming weeks.
Married At First Sight Australia airs Monday at 9pm on E4 in the UK.
