A MAN has been hospitalised for treatment after suffering injuries during an aggravated burglary at a home in Limerick.
Three masked thugs broke into a residential property in the Ballysimon Road area in Limerick City last night at approximately 9pm.
A man in his 30s was assaulted during the incident.
He was transported to University Hospital Limerick to be treated for his injuries.
It is believed that his injuries are not life-threatening at the moment.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed that a technical examination of the scene has been conducted.
An investigation is currently ongoing as cops are trying to locate the three thugs who are responsible for the incident.
Investigators are urging people who have any information regarding the incident to come forward.
They are mainly appealing to those who were in the area of Ballysimon Road and Old Cork Road between 8:30pm and 9:30pm and saw anything that may have drawn their attention.
And they encourage any road users who may have video camera footage from the area at the time of the incident to make it available to the investigation team.
In particular, they ask those who may have observed the movements of a dark-coloured jeep to come forward.

The spokesperson said: “Gardai are investigating an aggravated burglary that occurred at a residential property in the Ballysimon Road area, Limerick City, last night, Friday 28th February, 2025 at approximately 9pm.
“Three masked individuals entered the premises during the course of the incident, and a man, aged in his 30s, was assaulted.
“He was taken to University Hospital Limerick to be treated for his injuries, which are believed to be non life-threatening at this time.
“A technical examination of the scene has been conducted by Gardaí and investigations are currently ongoing.

“Gardai are appealing for anyone with any information regarding this incident to come forward.
“In particular, Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the area of Ballysimon Road and Old Cork Road, Limerick last night, Friday 28th February, 2025, between 8.30pm and 9.30pm, and saw anything which may have drawn their attention.
“Any road users who may have video camera footage (including dash-cam) from this area at this time, are asked to make it available to Gardaí.
“Any persons who observed the movements of a dark-coloured jeep are also asked to come forward.
