Davina McCall to host new BBC dating show set to rival Love Island – complete with exotic location

DAVINA McCall is set to front the BBC’s brand-new dating show, which promises to give Love Island a run for its money.

Coming to BBC One and iPlayer in 2025, Stranded on Honeymoon Island is a bold new dating experiment that will see twelve unlucky-in-love singles put to the test.

Hopefuls will be matched into six couples, tie the knot, and then be whisked away to a remote tropical island – all within moments of meeting.

But rather than being lavished with luxury, their honeymoons will be stripped back to the bare essentials, forcing them to rely on each other for survival.

Guiding the newlyweds on their journey will be TV legend Davina McCall.

The show host is no stranger to matchmaking, having previously led StreetMate, Singled Out, and most recently, My Mum, Your Dad.

Speaking about the show, Davina said: “I am a serial matchmaker… so I jumped at the chance to host the BBC’s new dating show.

“I can’t wait to meet our couples and find out how they get on when they’re Stranded on Honeymoon Island.

“For some, it will be challenging; for others, idyllic! Hopefully, it’s the start of some very beautiful relationships.”

There won’t be champagne breakfasts and spa treatments on this honeymoon.

Instead, couples will be tested like never before as they navigate their new marriages while braving the elements.

With no distractions from modern life and nowhere to run when things get tough, will true love blossom – or will the pressure tear them apart?

Murray Boland of CPL Productions – the team behind Married at First Sight UK and Love Is Blind UK – called it “a fascinating relationship experiment” and branded Davina as the perfect host to “lead viewers on this dramatic journey”.

Meanwhile, Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC, added: “Davina is the ideal addition to this bold and innovative dating reality show. It’s a match made in heaven!”

The show’s format, which was created by Snowman Productions, first aired in Belgium and has since been adapted in Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic – with an Australian version also in the works.
