We tried Glasgow’s wackiest space-themed burger joint—and it was out of this world!

A BIZARRE burger restaurant that’s truly out of this world has lifted off lift-off in Glasgow.

Alien UFO Burger, located on the city‘s Union Street, opened its airlocks a week ago to welcome Glaswegians in with its bright, space-themed décor and flashing neon lights.

Earthlings (and perhaps a few local Martians) can sink their teeth into an array of alien-themed burgers and sides, including the “Galactic Beef Blaster” and the “Cosmic Veggie Vortex.”

The restaurant is a sensory overload, with glowing aliens, retro space invaders, and interactive Martian displays that are guaranteed to make you feel like you’ve stepped into another galaxy.

And let’s not forget the stellar selection of milkshakes, desserts, and other sweet treats that will send your taste buds into orbit.

Scottish Sun reporters Jordan Tennant and Jennifer Jones were left star-struck by the menu options when they visited from a planet far away.

Jordan says.. THEY say you eat with your eyes and believe me this place was a visual spectacle.

It took me back to my childhood and looked like ET was hosting a 90s rave and I was invited.

When I was younger, I was obsessed with space. Ten-year-old me would loved this place and its intergalactic decor.

I’m a big kid and couldn’t wait to fly right in. I ordered a beef burger and purple fries.

The scran was just as wacky as the wallpaper.

My burger had been pressed in what appeared to be a toastie machine giving the round bun a lip similar to a flying saucer.

It was crammed full of crunchy salad and finished with a crazy-looking green sauce (I’m still not sure what it was).

My bright-coloured fries were lip-smacking and came with three tasty sauces.

After the main, I had just enough space for a waffle with ice cream and washed it down with a pistachio milkshake – green-coloured again, of course.

I was over the moon with my food and would love to visit this galaxy again in the very near future.

Jennifer says.. I’M ALWAYS on a mission to uncover the weird and wonderful when it comes to food and drink.

We were invited to preview UFO Burger, a quirky new arrival beamed down onto Union Street.

Inside, the retro lighting and playful, kitschy touches created an atmosphere that felt more like stepping into a sci-fi movie than a burger joint.

It’s a perfect destination for families or anyone looking for something a little different—and if the bright neon lights aren’t enough to draw you in, a towering nine-foot alien is stationed at the entrance, ready to welcome you aboard.

For my meal, I opted for the Chicken UFO Burger, a juicy chicken breast and fresh salad, sealed in by a custom burger press in a vibrant green bun that added an extra layer of novelty.

We were then asked to pick from a galaxy of sauce options, ranging from classic choices to the more adventurous, like pomegranate and the intriguingly named Alien Sauce.

Naturally, I had to try the latter—and it didn’t disappoint, delivering a tangy kick that was as mysterious as its name.

The sides menu was just as inventive, featuring everything from rainbow-coloured fries to star-shaped and tubular snacks.

However, the highlight for me was the Blooming Onion.

This deep-fried delight, which I’d only ever seen on American TikTok, was a welcome surprise.

Cut into a flower shape, coated in a paprika spice mix, and fried to golden perfection, it was served with a selection of dips that added to the fun.

To accompany the meal, UFO Burger offers an array of drinks, including a range of Space Mojitos.

Since I was heading back to work, I stayed grounded with a creamy pistachio milkshake.

To finish, I couldn’t resist the mint and white chocolate waffle, topped with a cheeky green alien head.

With its unique concept, vibrant presentation, and playful atmosphere, UFO Burger is unlike anything else in Glasgow right now.

Whether you’re planning a fun family outing or simply fancy trying something a little out of this world, this spot delivers a unique experience in a galaxy much closer than you might think.
