A WOMAN, aged in her 30s, has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after horror crash in Co Galway.
Two men, another woman and a child were also rushed to hospital after the three car crash.
The collision took place this morning at around 8:45am on the N17 near Milltown.
The occupant of one of the vehicles, the woman in her 30s, was airlifted to University Hospital Galway.
Two men, aged in their 30s, a woman, also aged in her 30s, and a child – who were the occupants of the two other vehicles were brought by ambulance to hospital.
Gardai have closed the road and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A statement for An Garda Siochana said: “Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a serious injury road traffic collision which occurred on the N17 near Milltown, Co Galway, this morning, Friday, 28th February, 2025.
“The three-car collision on the road between Tuam and Milltown occurred at approximately 8:45am.
“The occupant of one of the vehicles, a woman in her 30s, was airlifted to University Hospital Galway.
“The occupants of the other two vehicles – two men in their 30s, a woman in her 30s and a child – were all brought by ambulance to UHG.
“The road remains closed for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and diversions are in place via Dunmore, with Gardaí on duty at the diversions.”
They added: “Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
“Any road users who were on the N17 at Kilcloony between 8:30am and 9am and may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Tuam Garda Station on 093 70840, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.”
