HARD-pressed cops have been filmed bravely fighting off a baying mob as they tried to make arrests.

Groups of men kick and punch officers before one man is body-slammed by a burly cop who then draws his truncheon and hits his attacker – who runs away.

Northumbria Police said two cops needed hospital treatment and six arrests were made.
The terrifying scene escalates as groups of screaming men surround a house and continue to kick and punch several officers.
Baton-wielding cops eventually restore order as reinforcements arrive and the camera shows a handcuffed man sitting in the middle of the road surrounded by officers.
The footage was shared on a Facebook page UK Cop Humour with the message: “Another day, another video posted on X/Twitter showing police officers being attacked en masse by people who have absolutely no regard for the law and no fear of any consequences in 2025.
“We hear from witnesses that five arrests were made, and one PCSO had lighter fluid sprayed in his face. We hope you make a swift and full recovery.
“An excellent job done by those present in the circumstances. Let’s hope that a line isn’t quickly drawn under this – and instead, all those involved are identified and locked up in dawn raids over the coming days. #Bensham #Gateshead #CCTV #Riot #Police #Fight #Disorder.”
One witness said: “Hope all the officers are okay.”
Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At around 5pm on Tuesday we received a report of a concern for welfare in the Bensham area of Gateshead.
“We attended an address and two of our officers were subsequently assaulted. They were taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
“Six people – aged from 15 to 54 – were arrested in connection with the incident for offences relating to affray, resisting arrest and assaulting an emergency worker.
“They have since been bailed pending further police enquiries.
“We’re asking members of the public to avoid any speculation in the community and online in relation to our enquiries.
