Watch the TikTok Videos Causing Drama Between ‘Love Is Blind’ Stars Ben & Sara

If you’re all caught up with recent episodes of Love Is Blind season 8, you’ll know that Ben Mezzenga was accused of “treating women terribly” on TikTok. But what you may not know, is the exact details of the allegations so we’re breaking it all down.

In a fresh batch of episodes of Love Is Blind that aired on Feb. 21, 29-year-old Sara Carton confronted Ben, who she got engaged to earlier in the season, about a TikTok video made by a woman he used to date. Sara says the woman is crying in the video and questions Ben’s claims that all he did was ghost the woman four years ago.

“I’m telling you now, if more comes out of this, if I find out there’s anything at all, I won’t be able to trust you,” she tells him.

Yet, without knowing the details of the allegations against Ben, viewers were left in the dark as they wait for more episodes to see how it all plays out — spoiler alert: we may already know if Ben and Sara are still together after the show. While we wait, though, we’re explaining this TikTok drama in full.

Love Is Blind Star Ben’s TikTok Drama, Explained

The first of the TikTok videos discussed by Sara and Ben in Love Is Blind appear to be a video posted by an influencer named Andra on March 2, 2024, during the filming of season 8 of the show.

In the TikTok, the Minneapolis-based woman says she saw photos of the new cast of Love Is Blind and hints at recognizing one of the men on the list. “The dating pool here is very, very small,” Andra said while tearing up. “So if you messed up, someone’s gonna know about it.”

“I’m just exhausted and tired of society rewarding shitty men who treat women terribly and manipulate and lie all the time,” she said. “Maybe we can just not reward people who are like that, who have harmed people in their past.”

In a follow-up video, she elaborates on “the boy I know who is currently filming the next season of Love Is Blind here in Minneapolis,” adding that he is “not on [the show] for the right reasons” and that he is a “terrible person.”

@Andra is there a point in which boys and dating ever get better? I’m starting to doubt it #dating #loveisblind #netflix #minnesota

Andra claims that the man’s photo was once posted in a local Facebook group to warn women against dating him. “He was really one of the first boys to open up my eyes and make me realize you actually shouldn’t believe boys when they tell you things,” she said. “Because sometimes they will say and do absolutely anything to manipulate people.”

As far as we know, this is all the information Sara would have been privy to at the time of filming but Andra has since shared more details on TikTok.

In January, after an official cast photo for season 8 of Love Is Blind was released, Andra made another video. Though she doesn’t name Ben, she says the man she’s referring to played baseball at the University of Minnesota and previously worked as a real estate agent, all signs that point to Ben.

In this video, Andra specifically calls out Netflix for not editing Ben out of the show. “Netflix didn’t consider that if you pick some of the most narcissistic men who will do anything for fame that the second they walk off that set… they’re going to head straight back to the bars and start bragging about everything that happened behind the scenes.”

Andra claimed that many women “came forward about that horrific man.” She added that

“I saw him go around for years treating women on the [University of Minnesota] campus like they were objects and completely disposable,” Andra said. She added that he would go above and beyond to try and build up his following on social media, something corroborated by a viral photo of a business card allegedly belonging to Ben that has been circulating online. The photo shows a business card with Ben’s social media handles and now-deleted YouTube channel.

In a Feb. 25 interview with Us Weekly, Sara said she came across the first video while filming with Ben and his friends. “At this point, it’s been posted for a couple hours and there were hundreds of comments tagging Ben specifically,” she said. “I was really confused because she never specifically said his name, but I’m like, ‘How are all these people pinpointing that it’s him? And how do all these people know who he is?’ I was really trying to understand.”

Sara said producers separated her and Ben until they were back at their apartment so they could film their discussion, by which time the second video had been posted.

“She didn’t say anything specific other than him treating girls s—-y — and that can be taken in so many ways,” Sara told Us Weekly. “I was like, ‘OK, what extent are we talking here? Should I be concerned for my safety?’ I didn’t feel unsafe by any means, but [I] don’t want to take this lightly if it’s something serious. But I also, like, I don’t want to take this super seriously if he was just a d-bag or something.”

Sara hinted that Ben didn’t give her much more information at the time of filming. “He was protecting himself and I felt bad that he was in this situation,” she said. “I thought, ‘I’m not going to dismiss her with what she says, but I fell in love with you today — not four years ago.’ And I believe people can change and evolve. That’s who we are. We’re growing people. I didn’t want to discredit him and our relationship.”

Sara added that she has seen the videos that have emerged since filming the show, including the business card videos, but said viewers will have to tune into the rest of the season to see how it impacts their relationship.
