New dates confirmed for Kilkenny vs Limerick clash and other NHL/NFL fixtures


KILKENNY’S NHL re-fixture against Limerick will be played at Nowlan Park at 3.30 on March 15. 

The Cats’ Division 1A clash with the Treaty was called off on Sunday due to a waterlogged pitch.

Kilkenny’s clash with Limerick has been rescheduled for March 15

Meath’s NHL Division 2 game against Down in Trim and Armagh’s Division 3 trip to Cavan have also been refixed for March 15, and will throw-in at 1.30 and 2pm respectively. 

Laois’ Division 1B derby against Carlow that was called off at the weekend has not been finalised, but will take place that weekend at O’Moore Park with a throw-in time to be confirmed.

Sligo and Clare’s NFL Division 3 clash will be played on Sunday, March 9 at 1.30 at Markievicz Park. 

Wicklow’s Division 4 trip to Wexford has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 8 at Wexford Park at 6pm. 

It was called off as a mark of respect for former Wicklow under-20 player Brendan Stone, brother of senior panellist Malachy who passed away last Friday. 

Meanwhile, Sarsfields GAA club has paid an emotional tribute to former Cork hurler Ray Ryan following his “unexpected death”.

Ryan, brother of Cork senior hurling manager Pat Ryan, died on Tuesday at the age of 43.

His local club led the tributes, with Ryan having been part of Sarsfields teams that won county titles in 2008, 2010, 2012, and 2014.

The club said: “It is with heavy hearts that we at Sarsfields Hurling Club must share the heartbreaking news of the unexpected passing of our Minor Manager and club stalwart, Ray Ryan.

“His loss has left an immense void not only within our club, but also within Glanmire Football Club and the wider Glanmire community.


“Our deepest condolences go out to Aisling, his beautiful children, the Ryan family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.

“Ray’s unwavering dedication and passion for the game, as well as his kindness and commitment to our club will forever be remembered.”
