They will reveal the championship fixtures schedule for the new in-house service next month.

The platform’s analysts for 2025 will also be unveiled, but few changes are expected bar the departure of Michael Murphy, who has returned to inter-county football with Donegal.

Pricing packages for the new platform will also be confirmed, and are expected to remain around the €79 mark for a season pass, as per GAAGO last year.

GAA+ will be fully owned and operated by the GAA, after buying out RTÉ’s 50 per cent share in GAAGO – marking a major milestone in the association’s efforts to maintain control over its media rights.

The first games on the new platform will be broadcast on the opening weekend of the championship, which starts on April 5/6.

Up to 40 games are expected to be shown live on GAA+ in 2025, and the fixtures selection process is ongoing.

GAA+ chief Noel Quinn said: “This is a 100% wholly owned, managed and operated GAA platform that aims to meet the growing digital content demand from our members.

“While reinvesting 83% of all income generated back into the Association at all levels.

“Going direct-to-fan is a move that addresses modern sports fans’ viewing habits and future proofs the Association’s on-air requirements in a contracting indigenous Irish TV market.

“I am proud to lead a team that continues to innovate and pave the way for other Irish sports bodies to follow.

“We are ready for the next chapter that will see more live matches, renewed midweek series and other new programming.”
