Rangers hero Ally McCoist admits Celtic fans ‘aren’t even laughing at us any more’

ALLY McCOIST knows Rangers have pretty much hit rock bottom – because Celtic fans aren’t even LAUGHING at him any more.

The Ibrox hero found himself on the end of his usual grilling from Celtic-daft partner in crime Alan Brazil on the TalkSPORT breakfast show this morning.

Today the topic was on the 49ers proposed takeover – and why the club didn’t just stick with Philippe Clement until that deal is done.

McCoist replied: ” Unless… they’ve told them to do it before they get in.

“You know, get some of the dirty work done before we come in.

“Maybe. You’d hope that was the case. But in answer to your question, I don’t know.

“I mean, I just… I’m devastated. You lot aren’t even… You’re not even laughing at us any more.

“Honestly, my mates are… Celtic boys are phoning me, I’m saying, let’s get on..

“There’s nothing worse than getting sympathy for your biggest rivals.

“There’s nothing worse.”

Only yesterday McCoist admitted he feared that the interim coaching team of Barry Ferguson, Neil McCann, Billy Dodds and Allan McGregor could end up in “crisis management” mode.

He said: “The players right now, Europe aside, they look damaged.

“They look damaged, they look low on confidence, the look all over the place particularly in the last two home games.

“Getting them to understand what the club is all about and getting them to play might be two different things.

“Obviously, I am very, very hopeful but it’s a big task that they have got.

“A leopard doesn’t really change its spots. You might get a reaction over a couple of games or whatever it may be, but I look at the team and they are weak.

The one thing we don’t want to see, and I really, really mean this, is Barry Ferguson having to crisis manage.

“That is not a place you want to be, I can assure you of that.”
