There has been vast disagreement over the decision to abolish the Betting tax with some indicating that this will not be helpful to the youth.
However, Skyface SDW, a member of the Asakaa music group has revealed that he’s excited to hear that the betting tax will be scrapped very soon.
The ‘Obaa Hemaa’ crooner, said his dislike for the betting tax is rooted in the fact that the percentage deducted from the winnings is quite outrageous.
“As a youth, I’m happy to hear that the betting tax is about to be scrapped because when you bet and you win big and they deduct the tax it’s very painful,” he remarked as MyNewsGh.com reported.
“But when you stake your bet and you don’t win, they don’t give you any refund but if we were to be given some refund we wouldn’t have any problem if they deduct us after winning.
“And besides the percentage of tax to be deducted is so huge which makes it a bit annoying because if I win 10,000 they’ll take 1,000 from it,” he told Amansan Krakye in an interview.
