
The Niger State Police Command has detained the officer who accidentally sh0t an immigration personnel while attempting to disperse hoodlums in Minna. Assistant Superintendent of Immigration (ASI) Christiana Oladimeji, sustained a gunshot wound after a police patrol team was attacked by hoodlums while recovering suspected stolen items on 21st February, 2025. Speaking while presenting a N1 million cash donation to the family of the injured officer, to assist with hospital expenses, the Niger State Commissioner of Police, Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, said the officer has been held and is undergoing administrative disciplinary action along with his colleagues who were on duty at the time of the incident. According to the statement issued by the spokesperson of the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun on Monday, February 24, the Commissioner, who was represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration DCP Aminu Garba visited the injured immigration personnel at the Specialist hospital, Minna. During the visit, the CP inquired into the condition of the officer who is recuperating in the intensive care unit of the hospital, and informed the family that Niger State Government provided a token of support towards the speedy medical treatment of the victim.
