Naruto: It’s Hard to Support Masashi Kishimoto’s Absurd Claim About the 4th Great Ninja War

In the world of anime, there are very few moments that are as big as the 4th Great Ninja War or the Fourth Shinobi World War from Naruto. It is one of the, if not the, greatest moments in the history of the series and one of the main reasons why Naruto still sits at the top of the list in terms of the most popular anime and manga series of all time.

The creator of Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto, has talked about the war and the idea around it multiple times. He has even explained how the war was conceptualized after the Pain arc, which makes it even more interesting. However, what many Naruto fans won’t know is that the Fourth Shinobi World War lasted for around two days in the series.

Considering the long hours fans have spent watching the iconic war, it doesn’t feel like the war from Naruto would have only lasted for two days. But Kishimoto himself had made this claim that he planned the Fourth Shinobi World War in Naruto to last for around two days and it actually fit.

The marvel of the Fourth Shinobi World War in Naruto

As Naruto fans already know, the Fourth Shinobi World War was declared by Obito as a member of the Akatsuki against the Four Great Nations of the Naruto universe. The reason behind the war was the nations refusing to surrender the eight and nine tails to the Akatsuki and thus began the most epic moment in the history of Naruto.

The war saw death and destruction at an unprecedented level, and the series lost a lot of major characters. From Neji Hyuga to Shikaku Nara, the death tolls were on completely different levels, and the addition of extraterrestrial elements through Kaguya made it even more thrilling and enticing for the fans.

It truly was a marvel, and Kishimoto once revealed that he created the war arc so that he could help Naruto experience a war in his life and then come up with an answer to Nagato’s question. It was truly worth it, and there is a big possibility that without it, Naruto wouldn’t have been as famous as it is today.

Masashi Kishimoto’s claim about the Fourth Shinobi World War

Over the years, Masashi Kishimoto has talked a lot about Naruto and the essence of the Fourth Shinobi World War within the narrative. And while most of them are justifiable, the one that feels the most absurd is that the entire war took place in two whole days. It started on the 8th of October and lasted until the 10th, with the Allied Shinobi Forces being the winner of the war in Naruto.

Because the anime series stretched the war for more than 200 episodes, it feels like an absurd claim. However, u/Louisemv on Reddit revealed that Kishimoto did confirm later on that the Fourth Shinobi World War was only for two days. It is one of the longest sagas in the story and covers more than half of Naruto: Shippuden.

Fans have spent days going through the Fourth Shinobi World War, and while Kishimoto’s claim may feel insane, it doesn’t change the fact that if given the chance, Naruto fans would watch it all over again. It explains the excitement that the storyline brought within the Naruto series.

Naruto is available to watch on Hulu.
