GFA demanded 50% of our $100,000 bonus to be shared to people who didn’t go for the world Cup—Alhaji Grusah

Founder and bankroller of Kumasi-based King Faisal, Alhaji Grusah, has revealed that after Ghana’s last appearance at the World Cup, all the management committee members were asked to return 50% of the monies given to them.

According to him, the Ghana Football Association explained that the 50% would be shared among football people who did not have the opportunity to join the team during the World Cup.

He explained the reason they gave did not make sense because he had not received any such money as a football person when others went to the previous World Cups Ghana qualified for.

“Who told Ghanaians that we got $100,000? People don’t want to say we received this money. We received this money and they say they want 50% kickback.

They say we should bring 50% so that they share to people who didn’t go. Me too I have never received any money from a tournament that I did not go,” he told Accra-based Sporty FM in a rather broken English language.
