“Extreme confidence”: ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Has Broken a Marvel Tradition and I’m Sure Kevin Feige Made it to Prove a Point

Marvel Television seems very confident when it comes to Daredevil: Born Again, given that the review embargo for the show has already been lifted for early viewers and critics, a full eight days ahead of the show’s premiere on Disney+.

Lifting the review embargo so early might be a tell-tale sign that Kevin Feige is extremely confident when it comes to Daredevil: Born Again, which happens to be the most anticipated project to come off the studio in 2025, despite the likes of Captain America: Brave New World, Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Thunderbolts* being in cards for Marvel fans this year.

The fact that Marvel did not wait until the day before the show’s release to drop the early reviews might be a sign that Born Again has shaped up to be an absolute banger of a show. Fans over on Reddit have echoed this sentiment, expressing some early excitement for what the show might have to offer after all.

There has been a lot of negative talk about the projects that Marvel has turned in for the last few years. 2023 was a disaster for the franchise, and 2024 managed to have only one theatrical release from Marvel Studios. Now, as they burst onto the scene in 2025, Captain America: Brave New World seems to be a letdown that the studio cannot afford. As Daredevil: Born Again nears its release date, Marvel can only hope that the show can win back fans in a way that can sustain the franchise for a little longer.

Given the MCU’s recent string of failures, it might look like the franchise is in dire need of some rest. Come 2027, that might be a great way forward for Marvel Studios, but until then, it must trudge on.

Given that production has started on a slew of projects in the future, with a lot of them earning completion and beginning to enter their respective marketing cycles, Marvel needs to try and see the remaining phases through, without dealing with catastrophic failure.

Captain America: Brave New World was simply strike one, and Marvel still has a shot with Thunderbolts* and Fantastic Four: First Steps. If, in any way, these projects happen to take the MCU back to its prime, Marvel might have a fighting chance in a landscape that is increasingly dominated by DC and Image properties.

Daredevil: Born Again will begin streaming on March 4, 2024.
