Megan McKenna forced to defend her parenting methods AGAIN as she’s targeted by trolls while feeding her baby

MEGAN McKenna was defended by her followers after sparking a debate over weaning her baby.

The first-time mum has been keeping her fans up to date with every step of life with baby boy Landon, who is now four-and-a-half months old.

In a new video in her home, Megan was seen propping him up in a chair before feeding him in his first step towards weaning.

The adorable tot was seen mystified by the new taste, looking wide-eyed as she fed him, and soon appeared eager to try more.

Proud mum Megan wrote: “I think we can safely say Landon will be a foodie just like his mummy 🥹

But a debate soon sparked in the comments, with some criticising her choice for weaning him off milk so early.

When one follower asked if Megan had looked into baby-led weaning, Megan responded: “Yes but I’m waiting until he’s six months to do this as he’s only 4 1/2! I’m weaning him early due to his reflux.”

Her comment sparked a slew of critiques by people who didn’t think it was suitable, with no studies to back it up.

One even begged her not to, writing: “Please don’t wean him early there is zero studies it helps with reflux and can cause sooo many more issues in the long term.”

“Did you think about BLW [babyled weaning]?” wrote another. “No mushy liquidised stuff. Wait until they’re ready and can feed themselves. Thoroughly recommend it. Studies now show babies gut isn’t ready for food that early x”

“It’s called science and evolves every day look up the evidence based practice that advises that it should be six months it’s because new research shows that our bellies don’t protect themselves until six months Meaning more stomach issues when older” said a third.

“As her herself has issues with her digestive system you’d think she would wait until he’s 24 weeks before starting. Especially when he can’t sit up in a chair himself. Germany might have different regulations but the UK is defo six months.”

However other parents were quick to back her up, saying that it helped their baby.

“Bless him and this will help his little reflux so much. People that judge on this topic please stop this is done on medical advice to help a baby that is struggling well done little man x” one replied.

“I started weaning mine at 4 months old these comments aren’t it, what do you think they did back in the day with no restrictions or regulations 😂” said a second,

“this!!! Honestly sick of hearing people doing it by the book instead of going with their own instinct and doing it when they know babas are ready xx” noted a third.

However, others continued to double down, saying: “Weaning before six months is not recommended. Introducing solid foods too early can increase the risk of allergies and obesity later in life.”

They later added they feel she should wait because essential nutrients are in breast milk and formula, babies’ digestive systems aren’t mature enough to handle food, and it could increase risk of disease.

“Honestly the ‘but mine are fine’ bias is maddening in these comments,” they added.

This isn’t the first time Megan has come under fire, despite her adjusting to life as a new mum.

Megan has been honest with every up and down as a new parent, including getting painful mastitis – a condition where milk ducts get blocked in the breasts – and wanting to tone up her tummy after giving birth.

She’s also been juggling a bigger workload while her footballer fiancé Oliver Burke is away working.

Now complete with a mum bob hairdo, Megan has said that she is refusing to respond to negativity over her baby boy, after trolls came after her for trying to sleep train Landon to sleep by himself.
