The Avatar: The Last Airbender animated universe continues to leave old and new fans and viewers perplexed by its outstanding plotlines, but it’s not done entertaining just yet. This is because, besides the original series and the Legend of Korra sequel that followed, the franchise is all set to give life to a new sequel series: Seven Havens.

Of course, the mere news that the animated franchise would be delivering yet again is more than enough of a celebration-worthy news to fans to have their excitement peaking, though quite a few have some concerns and expectations about it: It should undo a major plotline introduced in Korra that made more than just a few Aang fans upset.
Avatar: Seven Havens has been greenlit, and fans are already high on expectations
More than a decade since The Legend of Korra finished airing on the screens, the animated franchise has decided to come back with a new sequel series. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of The Last Airbender, Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios have announced yet another 2D animated installment to the saga: Seven Havens.

As shared by the network (via PR Newswire), this sequel show will be set in the world of The Last Airbender and will reportedly be a 26-episode long affair spread over the course of 2 seasons, i.e. 13-half-hour-long episodes each. Additionally, this series appears to be set in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm.
This time around, a young Earthbender will discover that she’s the new Avatar after Korra, though not painted in the same light. This is because, in the scary era that her world is set in, the title marks her as humanity’s destroyer instead of its savior. “Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilization’s last strongholds collapse,” per PR Newswire.
Moreover, this freshly greenlit highly-anticipated series will have the original creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko returning to the game, so fans might as well expect to witness some peak action and storylines from the animated saga in the near future.
But as interesting as it sounds, fans already have a demand for the show creators and runners: Undo the plotline of Korra which had Vaatu (the spirit of darkness and chaos) pulling out Raava (the spirit of light and peace) from Korra’s body and destroying her after merging with Unalaq, resulting in Korra losing any connection she had with her ancestors.
Fans want Seven Havens to undo this Korra plotline

While the part where Korra loses her connection to all her ancestors and the previous Avatars served as a rather intriguing plotline that helped build up the mystery and anticipation among viewers, fans now want this new sequel series to undo that change. For one, this is especially asked by some Aang fans, who really want his spirit to be effectively brought back into the story.
Taking to X, here’s how they’re expressing this very desire of theirs, especially the part that Korra might be the only one this new lead Earthbender could turn to for guidance if they don’t retrace their steps and correct that connection:
Healing a fractured world seems like it will be a major theme so I could see this being a plot point.

God yeah, they need to fix allat. I couldn’t imagine being the avatar and the only advice I could take was from a traumatized hot head who’s only saving grace are how cool the villains she fought are

Korra being the only Avatar to talk to is going to be a headache.

I wonder what the storyline will be. Will she prevent a war between humans and spirits? Or will she try to reconnect with her past lives?

Damn, imagine being the new Avatar but instead of Centuries of former Avatars to give you advice. You’re stuck with Korra. Hahaha

Well, as The Last Airbender universe is expanding with the upcoming sequel series and fans eagerly await the new installment, some are calling for the show to address a major plot point from Korra, and rightly so. What remains to be seen is will the creators listen to the fans’ pleas and undo the controversial plotline, or will they forge a new path. Only time will tell.
