Star Trek: Picardseason 1 hinted that Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) could become the Borg Queen, but that position was inherited by a completely different Picard character instead. One prominent setting in Star Trek: Picard season 1 is the Artifact: a defunct Borg Cube under Romulan control and home to the Borg Reclamation Project, which helps former Borg drones after they’re de-assimilated. Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Hugh (Jonathan Del Arco) uses the long-range transporter in the Artifact’s Queencell, a hidden room common to all Cubes, to help Picard escape, while Elnor (Evan Evagora) stays behind.
