Yes, there will be a season 4 of Reacher. The showrunners confirmed a fourth season back in 2024. According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, Vernon Sanders, the head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, has confirmed,
Reacher has become a phenomenon that continues to resonate with our global customers beyond our wildest expectations and we are thrilled to bring the series back for an additional season. We are looking forward to more action and adventure from the immensely talented team behind the series including Nick Santora, Alan Ritchson, Lee Child, Skydance, and CBS Studios.
Although no official release date has been announced for Reacher season 4, author Lee Child, who is also an executive producer of the show, has confirmed to TechRadar that the series is already in pre-production. Alan Ritchson, who portrays the role of Jack Reacher, has recently shared a post on social media confirming season 4 of Reacher.
If the series is already in pre-production and starts shooting in the summer of 2025, the fans can expect season 4 to be released in 2026.

Alan Ritchson has been a confirmed character for Reacher season 4, reprising his role as Jack Reacher. However, there are speculations if any character from any previous season will make an appearance on the show. As per the storyline, Jack Reacher travels from one town to another in each season. Apart from Ritchson, Frances Neagley is a recurring character. She is one of the oldest friends of Reacher, a private investigator, and has appeared in every season of Reacher so far. Which Lee Child novel will Reacher season 4 adapt?
Reacher is based on Lee Child’s novel series which comprises 29 books in total. While season 1 adapted Killing Floor and season 2 adapted Bad Luck and Trouble, season 3 was based on the book Persuader (via Soap Central). Although MGM Studios hasn’t confirmed any particular novel for season 4, the cast members are aiming for one of their favorites.
In an interview with Men’s Journal, Maria Sten has expressed her wish about her favorite book from the series. She shared,
My favorite book is—and they’ll probably never do it—but it’s Without Fail.
Without Fail is the sixth book of the series and follows the work of Reacher and Neagley as they solve a case involving the possible assassination of the Vice President. Sten mentioned that despite being busy with her spin-off show, she would love to return to Reacher if Without Fail is adapted.
On the same question, Alan Ritchson said that he prefers Die Trying. He said in the same interview with Men’s Journal,
A lot of people who really want to do Without Fail! My favorite book is Die Trying. I would love to see that happen. And so far, there’s been a lot of discussion about whether or not we should or should not. I guess we’ll see what the future holds. I’ll find a way.
In Die Trying, Reacher goes on a forced road trip across America. The novel portrays the abduction of a former U.S. Army military officer on the streets of Chicago and handcuffed to a woman who claims to be an FBI agent. In the story, Reacher tries to unfold why he was taken, while he takes on his journey to find out the reason behind the abduction.
